'If I'm alone too long I think too much, and I'm not interested in doing that. That won't lead anywhere good, I'm sure. If I'm busy I tend to stay out of trouble." Lisa Marie Presley

Well, a week here in Florida on my own! I admit that it feels a bit odd. While I have never thought of myself as someone who is always on the go, I realize that I AM someone who always has something going on. Craft project; household undertaking; gathering. It is honestly taking me a bit of adjustment to having entire days at my disposal. I certainly have not been idle - at least not too much. It has been wonderful to get together with knitting friends, and to do some fiddling with my new camera. I have also read a couple of books - nothing very deep, which suits me just fine. The terrible weather never really materialized, which of course is a good thing! I can laugh now at my preparations - canned food - tuna and mandarin oranges (no sugar added) - that was it. I figured that I should stock up on things that I knew would ultimately get eaten - but really - what a horrid combination!

Yesterday and today are my only days without substantial rain. I'd like to spend some time at the beach, but I've had busy mornings, and frankly, the afternoons are just so hot, it's not what I want to do. I am thinking that tomorrow may be the day!

Bruce arrives next week - can't wait!

In the meantime, as I learn some of the bells and whistles on my camera, I'm leaving you with a few random shots!

  1. I would definitely be a bit fidgety with a whole week of vacation by myself. :-) Good for you learning how to use your camera even better. Your photos are beautiful!!

  2. Beautiful photos, Tracy! The blue is amazing! And I can understand that you can't wait for Bruce to arrive! But nevertheless, have a wonderful time!

Oh, and I love the food preparation combination you decided upon. Haha, so good! I'm very happy that you needn't to use it and the weather is good! It would be a strange diet! ;)

  3. Did you miss your place in Florida? I find I miss the lake terribly when I am in Louisville
