"How faithfully the grass holds the shape of the sea it loves...." ~ Nancy Willard, "In the Salt Marsh"
And now for this year's final post from the Cape. All of these shots are from out the front door of where we have stayed for the past three years - on the Pamet Marsh in Truro. A more beautiful, calming and peaceful place I cannot imagine. We received some disheartening news yesterday. Our cottage will not be rented out after September of next year, and the rent has gone up by 25% - no small amount. We love the Cape in mid-October and we love that house and its location - we are clearly not going to be able to have both again. So we have some decisions to make. Alas!
I will not caption these - the first is taken from our couch and the remainder are from various times of day and various stages of high and low tide. I think that you will see why we love it so. Some shots are nearly identical to ones that I've posted in previous years - but they bear repeating.

Your photos are so lovely and reflect what you love most about the place. That increase in the rent sounds pretty unreasonable. I hope you can find a way to make it work or at least find another cottage in the area that will bring you close by!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs, Tracy - worthy of publication outside of your blog. Enticing textures, colors and even sounds. Hard to imagine a bad seat in the house on the Cape - another equally beautiful opportunity will surely arise for you and Bruce.
ReplyDeleteGloriously beautiful photos! I do hope you find another place to stay nearby.
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful that I could image. You must go back.

ReplyDeleteAll these from the front door?! Wow, what a beautiful place... I can understand that you are sad to leave it. I' m crossing my fingers, that you find a new place, that you love as much as you loved this one. Or maybe even more some day - one never knows...
ReplyDeleteI hope you find another cottage to rent! Glorious photos that seem to refreshen my mind! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments - yes - I hope that we can find some place as heavenly as this - I'm keeping my thoughts positive!
