"It is easily overlooked that what is now called vintage was once brand new." ~ Tony Visconti

As with most things beach related, I have always had a thing for bathing beauties.  I'm not sure why, but there is something so charming about them.  The lovely ladies pictured below usually sit on my mantle, but the gray skies today had me moving them to a windowsill in order to get a little more light.

I recently ran across the link below to 360 (!) vintage bathing-suit photos from around the world.  Even if you don't go through all 360 of them, I think that you will enjoy looking through a few.  Just charming!

  1. They are so pretty! And it's so sweet that you moved them to more light :) Here in Berlin it's pretty much the same: grey, rain, grey... Looking through the vintage beach pictures made me missing Summer even more. They are wonderful!

By the way, I really like the quote you chose for this post!

  3. Wow, those photos are eye-opening! Thanks for sharing. Some that caught my attention were photo 12 (the two kids smoking??!) and photo 6 with the flouncy white "bathing suits" - I'm not really sure what to call them. All very intriguing!
I love your own photos of your 3 bathing beauties (who remind me of you and your sisters!)

    1. The two kids smoking caught my eye as well. I'm afraid that the ship has sailed on my days as a bathing beauty!
