And now for the fun picture(s) that I promised in my last post! Bruce and I made a trip to the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to do some hiking around and picture taking. Portions of the trails become submerged at high tide, and we ran across Dale and Janice, who happened to find themselves cut off from dry land! Intrepid hikers that they are, they rolled up their pants (or at least Janice did) and waded to shore. We all had a good laugh and I got their e-mail address in order to send along their photos and ask permission to use them in a post - which they very good-naturedly agreed to!
Thank you Dale and Janice for letting us share in your adventure!
We saw many beautiful sights as we hiked along.
On another outing, we hiked through some sand dunes near Provincetown - it was almost like being in a different world - very windswept and beautiful. Bruce spied a seal near the shore and then pointed in the distance, where we could see what I estimate to be between 30-40 seals in a small cove. There was no getting closer from where we were, but in speaking with someone later in the day, she indicated that at low tide we would be able to walk along the shore and get right to where they were - perhaps next year!
Out our front door at sunset.
