"Listen to me, mister. You're my knight in shining armor. Don't forget it. You're going to get back on that horse and I'm going to be right behind you, holding on tight and away we're going to go, go, go!" ~ Ethel from "On Golden Pond"

I have just returned from a six day visit to Vermont. First, before Mother's Day Weekend and beyond, to see Alex and Hannah. Next, to visit my sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Mike. All of it wonderful in every way!

I guess that I would say that the one unfortunate part is that my really, really good camera has been sent off for repair (fingers crossed that it is not a big deal). I thought so many times while away - if only I had my other camera with me! I did manage however, to bring along my point and shoot, and then - had to rely on my cell phone when the other camera's battery ran out half way through a museum. With my "really good" camera (a Nikon D90 - early retirement gift from Bruce many years ago), I never ran out of battery, and never worried about getting a shot that I liked. It was all fine however. I got photos - I was with my heart's desire for Mother's Day, and got to see my sister and brother-in-law.

I am only going to share a few photos today - I'm tired. These loons are right outside Alex and Hannah's door. While on a canoe trip around the lake, Alex and I spied four loons and a bald eagle. I did not have a camera - oh well! The pictures below were taken from shore. Their calls are both beautiful and haunting. I could listen to them all day.

  1. I sure understand missing your camera since mine is also in the shop! But these photos are beautiful. I love the light dancing on the water.
