"It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?" ~ Henry David Thoreau

I occasionally run into people I haven't seen in awhile who do not know that I am retired.  Always, I'm asked what I do with my time.  Well, pictured below is what has consumed the past two weeks!

15 quarts of tomato sauce (minus two in the picture because they have already been consumed)
340 bars of soap, enough to get us through the year, as well as friends and family!

It keeps me out of trouble!

  2. I love the quote, too! Absolutely beautiful soap shots. I wish we could smell them. Your pantry must be amazing. I wonder what else you've got up your sleeve? :)

    1. Well - having just returned from WEBS, I am planning to try my hand at an Icelandic cardigan (through a Craftsy class) WEBS did not have enough of my main shade, so I will have to wait for it while it is back-ordered. This will be my first go at working with more than one color!

  4. Love your comment! I would probably be sitting around eating nachos and drinking wine! Florida seems to be my down time, but I love every minute of retirement!

  6. i have had the pleasure of trying your soaps and i loved them!
    rose and lavender : )

many of my friends and family only use liquid soaps but i have a fondness for solids/soap bars. i simply like it much better and as a bonus i also find it more economical and good for the environment.
do you have a favourite soap bar tracy? is that last one with calendula?

ps: i am drinking delicious jasmine tea now gifted to me by a kind and generous far away friend!

    1. Thank you Vibeke! I think that I am torn between rosemary, ocean rain, and peony as my favorite scents! Yes - the last photo is soap made with calendula blossoms - wonderful eye! The scent is white tea and ginger. Calendula is one of the few botanicals that does not turn brown in cold-processed soap.

So glad you are enjoying your tea!
