On And Off My Needles

I have recently completed 22 Little Clouds.  This is the second of this pattern that I have done.  I added repeats to my second one so as to give it a bit more length. Completed in Malabrigo Silky Merino.

Last time, I blocked the entire shawl, and lost a bit of the ruffle as a result.  This time I will only block the top in order to eliminate the roll-over.  I love the little ruffles!

Now on my needles is a Top Down Icelandic Sweater.  I have never knit color-work before and am excited for this project.  It is a Craftsy class, and I'm sure that the online component of it will be very helpful.  My main color is still on back-order, so for the time being I have cast on (German Twisted Cast-On, which I have never done, but seemed to master), and I have knit the ribbing rows.  I have also watched many of the episodes so that I have a clearer understanding of reading the chart and how to incorporated the other colors. I suspect that I will have some time before my other yarn arrives, so I plan to do some practice knitting following the chart.  I should be ready when it gets here!

 I'll keep you posted!

  1. Wow,your knitting looks so neat! And the green looks so luscious! I'm curious how the sweater will look, I also love the colour you chose!

And thank you for mentioning Craftsy, I didn't know them, so I looked over there and they are offering Weaving classes! I wanted to learn weaving for a while now, but never really got the hang of it!

    1. Thanks Nancy! My experience with Craftsy up until this point has been limited, but I like what I see, and I like the idea of "seeing" the process unfold, and being able to ask questions - a real strong point of it all - I hope that you find success with it - let me know!

  2. Your 22 Little CLouds blocked nicely - can't wait to see you in it! Love the fair isle sweater you chose - I'll stay tuned for updates on that, and perhaps will be lucky enough to see it on the occasional Monday night

  3. Your clouds are beautiful. I love the ruffle. I have also bought the instructions for the Craftsy Icelandic sweater. I can't wait to see your finished sweater and now I know who to go to for help! I don't think I will be starting until the New Year though.

  4. Thanks Clarice! The color that I used - a bit greener than is shown in the photos - is what my knitting friends affectionately refer to as "Tracy Green"!
