"There are only two emotions in a plane: boredom and terror." ~ Orson Welles

This post finds me flying back to sunny Florida after a couple of weeks back home in the north.  When I was younger, I loved to fly.  As I've aged though, I really don't like it - I think that I feel so mortal now.

Unlike last winter, Central New York has had a very snowy January and February.  There was little impact (other than 6-8 inches of snow) from Winter Storm Nemo, but it has been snowing and blowing for much of two weeks.

If not for the color of the yarn, it almost looks as though these photos were taken in black and white!
Last year while in Florida, I knit up several Lucy Bags.  I have done the same thing this year - it's such an easy, social knit and one that I can easily do while riding in the car.  I brought my completed Lucy Bags back to Central New York with me on the plane, and felted them once I was home.  What I did not bring back with me though, were the tools to knit something while here.  So - I made a trip to Spun Right Round and picked up some needles and yarn and began the Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West.  This also is an easy, social knit and I should be able to work on it while on the plane for my return trip. I checked the TSA regulations regarding air travel with knitting needles just to be sure that this will not be a problem. Since they were updated less than a month ago, and they indicated that knitting needles are permitted in checked and carry on luggage - I should be ok.

  1. This is just the life that my in-laws are yearning for. A mix of snow and beach. It seems we have sunny and blue skies all the time down here and yearn for wild blizzards and torrential downpours! Oh, that snow is always whiter, isn't it!?

    1. I lived in Austin for 7 years - many years ago. I dreamed of snow - I wanted it so!
